4-5 year olds
Our topic this half term is ‘Animal Antics’.
We will be looking into the lives of animals in the stories we will be reading. We will explore the wonderful journeys they go on and meet an animal that enjoys coming to tea. We will use information books and the internet to research animals around the world, discovering interesting facts and learning more about their habitats. Our book corner has transformed into a jungle and our water area has turned into an ocean so the children can explore the different animals who live in these habitats.
The children’s personal, social and emotional development will be enhanced throughout as we think about how we can look after animals and learning about endangered animals and what we could do to help them.
To develop our communication and language skills, we will be looking at the stories in more detail by discussing the vocabulary and the images within. We will carry on practising our skills in recognising numbers to 20 and reading and writing using our phonic scheme and pre-cursive handwriting.
Every Thursday afternoon is Forest School and we love it! With spring approaching we are looking forward to the warmer weather and the changes that will bring to the forest.
