4-5 year olds
Our topic this half term is Growing. We will be exploring the natural world and the variety of fruits and vegetables that can be grown within our country and others. Our texts are based on traditional and exotic fruits and vegetables and where they come from. In writing, we will be focusing on sentence writing where we will be writing instructions on how to plant a seed and recreating our own stories. We will also focus on healthy eating and having a balanced diet where we will have a 'try' day Friday and try new foods.
In maths, we will be exploring numbers beyond 10 and focus on sharing and doubling single digit numbers. We will also be looking at shapes and patterns and how they can be combined and separated to make new shapes. Our P.E sessions will be on a Friday and we will be focusing on outdoor skills ready for Sports day. We will enjoy the new season in the forest and investigate how the environment has changed and what new minibeasts we will find. Our daily Read Write Inc. phonics sessions will help us read and write familiar and new words.
