Welcome!

Our topic this half term is All about Me. The children will learn about the different parts of their bodies and get to know where they live and their local community. Our texts are based on different emotions and feelings, thinking about how we manage them and how other people might feel. To develop our fine motor skills by doing finger strong activities and working on using the correct pencil grip. In writing, we will be focusing on mark making and writing simple words to label parts of the body and drawing self-portraits. In our circle time sessions, we will be getting to know one another, reading stories linked to the childrens interests and singing songs. We will also focus on healthy eating and having a balanced diet where we will have a 'try' day Friday and try new foods. In maths, we will be exploring number bonds to 5 and counting to ten. We will use resources to help us count one to one and gain a deeper understanding of numbers. In P.E we will be getting to know how to move in different ways, such as hopping, jumping and skipping. We will also understand the health and safety aspects of using P.E equipment to build on independence and gross motor skills. Our daily Read Write Inc. phonics sessions will help us read and write familiar and new words.

Please make sure you are signed up to Tapestry for all our updates!
