During the Autumn Term, we will be learning about Prehistoric Britain. We will observe the evolution of tools from the Stone Age to the Iron Age and we will explore how people lived and how they used any resources they could find and adapt it to their needs.   

Within English, we will develop our sentence structure to ensure that it is grammatically correct and engaging for a reader. We will create our own diary entries, setting descriptions and write our own letters. Our writing this term will be linked to our core reading texts ‘Stone Age Boy’, ‘The Stolen Spear’ and ‘Stone Girl Bone Girl’.

Through Maths lessons, pupils will develop their number and place value knowledge through partitioning whole numbers. We will then progress onto using the four operations - addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We will use these essential skills in other areas of maths, such as fractions, measurement and problem solving later on in the year. It is essential we create a strong foundation of number knowledge as applies to all areas of Maths.
