School meals have changed a lot since most parents were at school themselves – they’re tastier, healthier and a lot more fun!

Good nutrition is all about eating lots of different foods. Fussy eaters often thrive on school meals – many parents say their children have tried all sorts of foods in school that they refuse at home. They’re also a great way for children to improve their eating habits such as using a knife and fork and to learn about the social side of eating with their friends.

We believe lunchtimes should be an integral part of the school day, building on and promoting positive learning and social behaviours.  Working with our caterers, Caterlink, we work hard to ensure a positive lunchtime experience for all and regularly review menus.

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 at state-funded schools get school meals for free.

School Milk

School milk is excellent as a mid-morning drink. It provides a nutritional boost and keeps children hydrated between breakfast and lunch, helping them to concentrate and learn.

Did you know our school has a school milk scheme?
By registering your child for our school milk scheme they will receive a 189ml (third of a pint) carton of semi-skimmed milk every day. This is delivered fresh and chilled to their classroom every day.

How much does it cost?
Thanks to government subsidies, school milk is free for all under-fives and is subsided at around £15 a term for children aged five or older.

Why should I register my child?
School milk provides your child with essential nutrients such as calcium and protein, for strong, healthy teeth and bones. It is also rehydrating and energy boosting, helping to bridge the long gap between breakfast and lunch so children stay focused.
